Sailing, Fishing & Diving
| Royal Gourock Yacht Club, Ashton Road ,
Gourocks first sailing club, was formed in 1893 and received Royal
status in 1908. The King George V Challenge Cup, presented to the Club in 1920, is still a
highlight of the racing season every August. The Club welcomes members of yacht clubs

Inverkip Marina (01475 521 485), ten minutes from
Gourock, is Scotlands premier marina with 600 berths for up to 80+, large yard
and covered workshops, chandlery, charter and sales. Also at the Marina:
International Dive School (01475 521 281) offers
tuition and boat charter for exploring some of the many shipwrecks that lie in Clyde
waters.
Clyde Offshore Sailing Centre offers yacht charter
and corporate entertaining as well as RYA tuition at Kip Marina (01475 521 210). For boats
trips during the summer months to the scenic lochs and resorts of the Firth of Clyde,
including Millport and the Kyles of Bute, contact them at Princes Pier, Greenock (01475
721 281) Scottish Tourist Board Commended.
Greenock Ocean Terminal, at Greenock, adjacent to
Gourock, hosts some of the worlds most famous ocean liners - for instance, the QEII,
which was built in the Clyde - and also is a regular port of call during the summer months

PS Waverley, the worlds last seafaring
paddle-steamer. You can board at Greenock for sailings to various destinations in the

Ardgowan Estate at Inverkip - 18th century manor
house set in 400 acres has Trout Fisheries (01475 522 492) for fly fishing on two lochs
and the River Kip. Also Bankfoot Riding School (01475 521 390) for horse & pony
trekking.
